Hello – I am truly sorry to hear of your loss.  You don’t know me.  I didn’t know Chris.  I get the newsletter from

Bernice Lewis every month and I read the poem she wrote about Chris.  Because of my involvement with Special Education – first as a student, then as a teacher and also as a friend, I thought Chris might be ’special’.  I was curious to know more, so I went to the website.  What I discovered upon reading the website is just how special Chris was.  The more I read the more I had tears rolling down my face.  By the time I got to the end of the letter from his Coach I was crying as if I had lost my own friend. I just wanted to let you know that Chris is continuing to touch people in his own special way and I am a better person for having glimpsed his life.  The people who knew and loved him were indeed given a wonderful gift and I wanted to thank you for sharing that gift.  The website is a beautiful tribute to a beautiful human being.
